1. Fitting
3. Weight
2. Heel
4. Sole

Fitting

It is most important thing to look for when buying a walking shoe. Your foot should have enough room for your feet. Sometime when we like a particular shoe we tend to buy it even if doesn’t fit properly thinking that little smaller will work. For selecting a walking show never but a shoe which does not fit properly. The shoe should not pinch or hurt your thumb and should be loose enough to keep the foot relaxed. There should be enough room inside your shoe for little movement but it should not be loose.

Weight

Walking shoe has to be light weight so that it doesn’t put any strain on your foot . Avoid bulky , heavy boots for walking and look for a shoe that is light weight and breathable. Weather you are taking a short walk or long walk you should wear proper walking shoe to prevent your foot from hurting. The shoes you use for office or hiking or running are different than walking shoes .

Heel

Heel is very impotant factor in selecting the walking shoes.
Shoes are designed differently  for running and walking and the reason being the movement of foot which is different for walking and different in running. If you casually look you may find running and walking shoe as similar but you have to look closely and find the correct walking shoe. Heels for walking shoes has to be lower and support the foot so that you can continue proper walking movement and  doesn’t hurt the foot. Walking foot movement causes  heels to hit first so it has to be supportive of that movement otherwise you can get your foot hurt or start having foot pain.

Sole

Walking shoes should have a comfortable sole so that it can support your feet and can absorb the hard movements. If your walking shoe has hard sole your foot gets the hard walking movements so you have to have a good sole to absorb the hard walking movements.

Keep these facts in mind and you will  have your foot relaxed after a walk . Don’t get tempted to buy shoe which does not meet any of the points mentioned above. The shoe you buy has to be functionally fit for the need.
